1. Do you customize the color?
Yes, we customize the Original solution. We take several factors into consideration; your skin, hair and eye color as well as the color you desire. With the Express solution, you have the opportunity to customize it with your shower time between 1 hour for a light tan, 2-3 hours for a medium tan, and 4 hours for a dark tan.
2. Should I worry about looking unnatural, or splotchy?
Definitely Not. Our solution is made with high quality DHA that is developed from organic sugar beets, and sugar cane rather than beta-carotene (carrot extract). This promises your tan will be golden brown. All of the airbrush artists are very well trained to avoid making splotches and streaks as well as unevenness.
3. How are the Original and Express solution different.
The only difference is time. The Original is a 12-hour solution with a shade that we customize for you. The Express is 1-4 hours depending on the desired color, we will help figure out what color you’re looking for which will determine your appropriate shower time.
4. What should I do to get ready for my tan?
We recommend exfoliating and moisturizing as much as possible until the day before your tan. We also recommend that you shave your legs prior to getting your spray tan.
5. What do you recommend I wear to my appointment?
We recommend you wear dark, loose fitted clothing as well as flip-flops.
6. Do I need to wear anything when I get sprayed?
Ladies may tan nude or however you feel most comfortable. Men however may not tan nude, they can wear a speedo, boxers etc…
7. How long is the appointment time?
The appointment time is set for 20 minutes. If this is your first time or have extra questions please arrive 5 minutes early.
8. When I shower my tan off is there anything I should do, or not do?
We never recommend shaving right after a spray tan, and if you do Express we recommend you do a soft rinse with only water. Regular soap can disrupt the process of the DHA and can in turn make you feel not as dark as you would have liked.
9. How long does the tan last?
Your tan should last 7-10 days but this will be affected by how you take care of it. For example, too much time in the pool or hot tub can strip the tan off. Also putting on lotion once to twice a day will help keep your skin hydrated, happy and healthy. The healthier your skin, the better your tan will be.
10. Why does my face fade faster than my body?
There is a multitude of reasons this may happen. First, the skin is exposed to the most free radicals, and we wash our faces more frequently. Secondly, many women put on creams and lotions, anti-aging products and exfoliate as well, all that can strip your tan.
11. Does my airbrush tan protect me from the sun?
Unfortunately, it does not, so remember to wear sunblock!
12. Why does my tan sometimes look patchy when it starts to come off?
The DHA takes to your dead skin cells, resulting in a bronzing effect. Therefore, as your skin goes through its natural exfoliation process, these dead skin cells shed. It is important to note that not all skin cells have the same turn over rate. You may notice some skin cells have stayed “tanned” longer than others. This has no correlation to your airbrush technician or the solution. Keep in mind that this process tends to be a bit more noticeable when you choose a shade that is significantly darker than your natural skin color. However, you can try to avoid this by moisturizing every day as well as exfoliating prior to getting a spray tan.
13. Is airbrush tanning safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?
The active ingredient, DHA, has never been tested extensively on pregnant or breastfeeding women. We recommend it is always good to check with your doctor, we also offer masks if you are concerned about breathing it in.
14. Should I get a spray tan if I have a sunburn?
This is the one thing that we try to avoid and don’t recommend doing. Mainly because sunburns tend to peel which would leave you uneven in some spots.
15. Is the New Client Specials always available or does it go away?
Yes! When you purchase your tan for the first time, you automatically receive a complimentary second tan. Complimentary tans are not transferable and they do not expire, but there is a 24-hour cancellation / change policy once they are scheduled. Also, there are block out dates for free tans, which include: three days prior to major holidays and music festivals. Please keep in mind that you are welcome to book an appointment for those days and save your complimentary tan for a later time.

You may cancel your appointment up to 4 hours before your appointment time, with no penalty.
After the 4 hour window, late cancellations and no shows will result in a fee of 40% of the total booked service(s) which will be charged immediately.
- In order to book an appointment, we require a card held on file. Your card will not be charged for the service until after the service is completed. It will only be charged if a late cancellation or a no show occurs.
- Please understand that late cancellations and no shows inconvenience both our Sugarists and turned away clients.
- If you do not show up for your appointment within 10 minutes of your reserved time, we will need to consider you a no show. However, if time allows, we will try to fit you in before the next appointment or place you with a different Sugarist.
- As a courtesy to our clients, we will try to send both text and email confirmations about 24 hours prior to your appointment time. However, if we’re unable to contact you, you do not receive a confirmation text or email reminder, or if you have opted out on receiving texts or emails, the appointment for your service(s) will remain booked. It is your responsibility to remember your appointment time.
